The house price boom of recent years could be set to slow to a near standstill next year even assuming the credit market storm blows over.

Tracy Kellett, founder of BDI Homefinders UK, a residential property buying agent, is seeing a turnaround of the frenzied buying in London of the spring and early summer. "Now we're seeing properties being sold at a discount. I'm looking to buy £1.75m properties at £1.5m," she said.
