Relocating from Australia to London
Top rented pad plus the furniture too
A classy crash pad for a young CEO moving over from Australia. It needed to be close to nightlife, takeaways and good for jogging. The kitchen was not a priority for this busy client! Treating this short term rental as an opportunity to live somewhere special, we sourced a wonderful refurbished apartment overlooking the river in the heart of a buzzy Thames-side town. Nearby Michelin-starred restaurants for corporate entertaining and gastro-pubs for solo nights were part of the package. Negotiating a reduction in rental price, we also arranged a furniture package until our client's furniture arrived.
Family relocating to Buckinghamshire
Best of Bucks for young trio
Schools were the priority for this client. With a family of three children heading over from Australia we needed to source a property in the right catchment area for the best Buckinghamshire schools available. Researching the availability of school places for all of the children, we were then able to work backwards, present the school with the lease as fast as possible and tie down places in time for the family's arrival.
Executive rental property
Just the ticket for work and play
We needed to find a bachelorette pad - close to work but also in a community where this single lady could make friends quickly. A bijou pied à terre was sourced in a lovely little village with single-friendly pubs and plenty of classy restaurants. Importantly, for security, it was also in a small gated development. Drinks on the terrace with friendly neighbours and pub buddies at the local ensued quickly.
Relocation to the UK
With a baby on the way
A change of job prompted a move from Copenhagen to the UK. Our clients needed advising on a good family friendly town with excellent access to Heathrow area. Budget restrictions pointed to Maidenhead and with time being against us - baby due in three months - we decided to make the move a two-step process and secured an initial rental property so that the family had a UK base. When it came to a property to buy, the family wanted a traditional well-built home. Having lived in a spacious apartment in Copenhagen for three years, they needed room for all of the wonderful Danish designed furniture they had collected. After viewing several options, our clients were delighted to be shown a traditional 1930s detached house, in a very good area of Maidenhead close to the river. As the property was a divorce sale, our position allowed us to make a quick purchase and we beat off many other buyers. The property was secured in September 2006 and by the end of the year was worth a good £50k more.
